Class Styles

It’s important to find the style (and teacher) that’s right for you!

No two classes or teachers at Camaraderie are the same. Our teachers are given creative freedom to express their craft as they see fit while staying within the parameters of their class description so students can know when to expect in regards to pace, level and style. Our class descriptions give you more information about each style of practice with recommendations for students who are newer to the practice.

  • An introduction to foundational poses and yogic principles with attention to alignment and breath. This class is suitable for a beginner learning terminology, alignment and form, anyone wishing to refresh their practice on the basic principles and philosophy of yoga and those looking for a non-flow class.

  • This practices invites movement in a mindful, unchoreographed way to promote self- expression, self-discovery, and personal growth. This style of dance is known as "Open Floor" - all are welcome. There are no steps to follow. It’s a moving meditation that offers a myriad of ways that foster connection with yourself, others, community and spirit. Practice encourages exploring your whole self in the process: physically, emotionally, mindfully and soulfully.

  • This practice blends Pilates inspired exercises with mindful attention and functional exploratory movement patterns to promote alignment, balance and restoration from within. We cultivate presence while movement and breath are integrated with conscious pacing.

  • A slow and accessible yoga class designed to meet the needs of the individual, enhancing overall physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Yoga props are used to help enhance both postures and relaxation. Recommended for beginners, experienced students looking for a gentler practice or anybody who is in the process of healing.

  • This non-yoga class focuses on functional movement patterns designed to enhance strength, mobility, and overall vitality. Through bodyweight movements and mobility work, participants will build the kind of strength that improves everyday activities and overall quality of life. The aim is not just to transform bodies but to support mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual energy. Whether individuals are looking to gain strength or improve their holistic health, this class will empower them to move better and feel more connected to their bodies.

  • Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) uses gentle exercises to enhance (qi/chi) energy in the body, mind, and spirit, promoting health and well-being. Classes consist of simple, playful movements repeated in a mindful flow, helping to clear the mind. It's suitable for everyone, from athletes to those with disabilities, and can be done seated or standing.

  • This style of yoga is passive - poses are typically held for 3-5 minutes, on the ground, often with the support of props. Time and gravity work to bring you deeper into the experience, not physical effort. Practice supports joint health, bringing ease and fluidity into fascia system (connective tissue) and releasing tension and stress. Yin yoga is a great practice for beginners and a great complement to the busyness of our lives and other activities. Please tell the teacher if you are pregnant, have injuries or recent surgeries. Variations are offered for all bodies.

  • A gentle style of yoga that encourages physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Appropriate for all levels, restorative yoga is practiced on the ground with lots of props for a quality of effortlessness, holding poses for 5-20 minutes, focusing on stillness, softness and rest.

  • This class utilizes props such as myofascial release balls, foam rollers, blocks, self-massage and assistive touch to release tension, loosen the entire fascial system and bring more easy and fluidity to the whole body. This is not a yoga class, but we will bring in some asana or yoga-inspired postures. Great for healing injuries, complementing our fitness routines and reducing the hold stress has over us.

  • A slower based Vinyasa practice with rhythmic movement, longer holds and mindfulness, benefitting overall emotional and physical wellbeing. Classes include postures, breath work, meditation and other aspects of yoga for a well-rounded experience.

  • A dynamic, fluid class that incorporates movement and meditation, strength and flexibility, structure and creativity. No two classes are alike. Movement and breath are connected in a rhythmic way and class is sequenced both intelligently and creatively, increasing respiration and circulation while also both stimulating and regulating the nervous system. A good vinyasa practice is a balance of active and passive poses, leaving you invigorated and grounded, often building intensity and depth along the way, challenging you to move in a new way!

  • Known as yogic sleep, yoga nidra is a conscious relaxation practice done completely on the ground in savasana (Corse Pose) with guided prompts and visualization techniques to promote deep rest and relaxation. Perfect for all bodies.
